On our agenda today

We discussed mythology, and have been covering some of the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.  The girls love hearing these stories.

We did some California work sheets, since Daddy is in San Francisco this week for a class/training.

We were sitting here working on mental math.  I gave the five year old this problem...100-100+50. Without even thinking or counting, she replied "50, that was easy!".

2012-2013 School year has begun!

We started our 2012-2013 school year on 30 July 2012!  I am going to post our curriculum we accomplished each week.  Feel free to use any ideas you see to help in your teaching experience.  We like to do hands on work, but still use workbooks, pencils, and paper.  I haven't figured out a way to do everything hands on...yet!

We are sticking with last year's schedule, it seemed to work really well for us.

Primary Picnic

Today is the Primary Picnic for Charlie's "school"/homeschool enrichment program.  We will be having a picnic lunch with other families with K-3rd graders, as well as meeting the teachers.  We were very involved with the program last year and got to know most of the teachers in and out of Charlie's classes.  This year there are a couple new teachers, and will be several new families.  Charlie is in first grade and will be switching classes with first and second graders, rather than just staying in the first grade class.  She has; Art, Music, Gym, Hands-On Science, and Robotics!  She is super excited that she got to pick two of her classes this year.  Daddy and I are not surprised that they were both Science classes!
